Abstract

Rational self-medication with multivitamins is crucial among adolescents to ensure safety, effectiveness, and to prevent unwanted health risks. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the accuracy of self-medicated multivitamin use among adolescents in Madiun City. This research used an analytic observational design with an accidental sampling method, involving 379 adolescent respondents. The dependent variable in this study was the accuracy of multivitamin use, while the independent variables included knowledge, gender, parents’ occupation, attitude, perception, the role of pharmaceutical personnel, and peer support. Data were analyzed using Logistic Regression. The results showed that 81.79% of respondents used multivitamins accurately, while 18.21% did not. The factors that had a significant influence on the accuracy of multivitamin use among adolescents in Madiun City were knowledge, parents’ occupation, gender, and peer support (p value < 0.05).
