Abstract
The background of this research is based on the low level of academic engagement among Grade X DKV students at SMK PGRI 1 Mejayan, as indicated by the lack of active participation and enthusiasm in the learning process. This condition is worsened by teacher-centered instructional methods, which tend to make students passive. To address this issue, the study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning strategy assisted by Videoscribe in improving students’ academic engagement. This research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test post-test experimental design. The subjects consisted of 35 students selected through total sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring three dimensions of academic engagement: cognitive, emotional, and behavioral. The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, indicating that the Project-Based Learning strategy assisted by Videoscribe is effective in enhancing students’ academic engagement.
