Abstract

This study was motivated by the prevalence of bullying behavior in the environment of SMK PGRI Wonoasri, Madiun Regency, which has a negative impact on the psychological and social development of students. The main issue in this study is how peer conformity and self-awareness influence bullying behavior among students. The objective of this study is to determine the influence of peer conformity and self-awareness on bullying behavior among students at SMK PGRI Wonoasri in Madiun Regency. This study is a quantitative research using the ex post facto research method. The sample consisted of 60 students from SMK PGRI Wonoasri, Madiun Regency, in grade 11. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis with the SPSS program. The results of the study indicate that: (1) there is a influence of peer conformity on bullying behavior among students at SMK PGRI Wonoasri, Madiun Regency. (2) There is influence of bullying behavior among students at SMK PGRI Wonoasri, Madiun Regency, as viewed from self-awareness. (3) There is a influence of bullying behavior among students at SMK PGRI Wonoasri, Madiun Regency, as viewed from peer conformity and self-awareness. The conclusion of this study is that conformity to peers can increase the tendency toward bullying, while high self-awareness can reduce it. Therefore, it is important for schools and parents to enhance students' self-awareness and foster a positive peer environment to reduce bullying behavior in schools.
