Abstract

This study aims to develop a differentiated summative evaluation based on role playing in basic accounting learning at SMKN 2 Jiwan. This study was conducted because of the limited use of comprehensive evaluation methods in the implementation of differentiated learning, especially in vocational high schools (SMK). The role playing method was chosen because it is considered capable of increasing student engagement and their understanding of accounting material through real simulations. This study is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were students from Class X Accounting 1 and X Accounting 4 at SMKN 2 Jiwan. The evaluation tools developed included role playing scenarios, assessment instruments, simulation guidelines, and student worksheets (LKS). Validation was conducted by subject matter experts and language experts, and tested through limited trials and field trials. The results of the study indicate that the differentiated summative evaluation based on role-playing was deemed appropriate by subject matter and language experts, practical based on student and teacher responses (≥ 80%), and effective in improving student learning outcomes with a Minimum Competency Criteria (MCC) achievement of ≥ 80%. Thus, this can serve as an innovative and adaptive evaluation alternative in basic accounting education based on differentiation.
