Abstract

Academic burnout can manifest in various forms such as anxiety, depression, irritability, cynicism, and decreased academic performance. Academic burnout is caused by stress at school, which can lead to physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion. Furthermore, personalization or cynicism and decreased academic performance are also impacts of academic burnout itself. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group counseling using the reframing technique in reducing academic burnout. This study was quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The testing method used in data analysis was a non-parametric measurement, namely the Wilcoxon test to determine whether there was a decrease in academic burnout or not after being given treatment by providing group counseling services with the reframing technique. The research respondents were 17 students using a sample of 5 students. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test using SPSS. A comparison of academic burnout levels is shown in the results of the pretest and posttest after being given treatment. Thus, the results of the study indicate that group counseling using the reframing technique is effective in reducing academic burnout among eleventh-grade students at the Islamic Senior High School of Agriculture in Madiun City in the 2024/2025 academic year.
