Abstract
Early childhood education plays a crucial role in preparing children for elementary school through cognitive, physical, language, social-emotional, and moral development. The transition from early childhood education to primary education requires thorough preparation for teachers to play an active role as educators and mentors. With optimal support and guidance, children can develop optimally and continue their education successfully. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of teachers in improving early childhood readiness for elementary school. This study employed a qualitative research design using a qualitative survey research design. The data sources for this study consisted of two data sources: primary data sources and secondary data sources. This study employed various data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that teachers play a role as educators, instructors, facilitators, and models to improve the developmental aspects of elementary school readiness, which include children's physical, motor, social, emotional, and cognitive language aspects comprehensively according to their stages, so that children's school readiness is optimally formed.
