Abstract
The background of this study focuses on career planning for vocational high school students. Career planning is an important part of adolescence, especially for vocational high school students who are prepared to enter the workforce directly. However, the high unemployment rate indicates that many students do not yet have a clear career direction. The two main factors influencing this are self-efficacy and parental support. This study aims to investigate the influence of self-efficacy and parental support on career planning among vocational high school students at Cendekia Madiun for the 2024/2025 academic year. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Ex-post Facto method. The sampling technique used in this study is probability sampling, specifically simple random sampling. This study applies a data collection method using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The collected data is then analyzed using data analysis methods, including normality and linearity tests. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple linear regression tests, partial tests (T-tests), simultaneous tests (F-tests), and coefficient of determination tests (R2) to answer the hypotheses in this study. The results of this study indicate that (1) self-efficacy has a negative effect on career planning with a t-value of -3.342 > t-table 2.045. (2) Parental support has a positive effect on career planning with a t-value of 5.294 > t-table 2.045. (3) Self-efficacy and parental support have a positive effect on career planning, with a calculated F value of 14.869 > F table 3.33. Therefore, it can be concluded that self-efficacy and parental support have an effect on career planning.
