Abstract
The forming machine at PT Refindo Intiselaras Indonesia has been recorded as the equipment with the highest downtime, accounting for 52% of the total production stoppage time. This high downtime indicates the need for a more effective maintenance strategy. This study applies the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach to identify critical components and determine appropriate maintenance strategies, combined with the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to evaluate failure priorities based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN). Based on the FMEA results, the bearing component showed the highest RPN value, where bearing wear was identified as one of the most critical causes, with an RPN of 164. The Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) for this component was 213 minutes, while the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) was 292 hours. A preventive maintenance strategy is recommended to reduce the frequency of failures. In addition, the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) method was used to calculate the total maintenance cost over the machine’s service life. The LCC analysis showed that the lowest cost scenario occurred when one mechanic was assigned to maintain the forming machine, with a total cost of IDR 474,510,649.00 billion.
