Abstract

PT. Sari Warna Asli Unit I is one of the textile companies located in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province. The company has two production units, namely dyeing and printing. This research focuses on the printing production unit for cotton fabric. The problems faced in this production unit are the presence of defective products that are difficult to avoid and there is no solution to this issue yet. The method used in this research is six sigma with the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) approach to determine the sigma value in the printing production unit, during the improve phase, improvement proposals using the Kaizen concept are included, in addition, an analysis is also conducted to maintain quality using the SWOT method to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the company. The strategy determination in this research uses the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix method (QSPM) by determining the best strategy priorities. The research results show that the sigma level for folding defects is 1.76, for closed screen defects is 1.95, for leaking print defects is 1.97, and for torn defects is 2.19. The SWOT analysis yields an IFAS score of 3.65 and an EFAS score of 3.66. The grand strategy matrix produces an S-O (Strength-Opportunity) strategy proposal, which is to maximize strengths and capitalize on opportunities. Moreover, the top priority strategy is to conduct pre-production supervision and periodic evaluation during the production process with a TAS score of 0.73.
