Abstract

Fahdila Putri Meta Aulia 2025. Hyperreality of Readers in Fan Fiction Alternate Universe Hilmy Milan by Nadia Ristivani. Thesis, Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI University Madiun. Advisors: (1) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd. (2) Dr. Muhammad Binur Huda, M.Pd. This study aims to describe readers' reactions in interpreting Nadia Ristivani's Hilmy Milan Fan Fiction and to describe the hyperreality of readers in Nadia Ristivani's Hilmy Milan Alternate Universe Fan Fiction. This study is a literary research using a sociological approach to literature. The technique used is the read-and-note technique. Data analysis in this study involves several stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The theories used are literary reception theory and Jean Baudrillard's theory of hyperreality. The results of this study show that there are 19 data points on readers' interest reactions, 32 data points on readers' emotional reactions, 6 data points on readers' aesthetic reactions, 23 data points on readers' personal involvement reactions, 9 data points on readers' ability to believe reactions, and 7 data points on readers' authenticity reactions. In terms of reader hyperreality, there were 48 data points indicating that readers experienced hyperreality. Additionally, the questionnaire responses were dominated by readers who experienced hyperreality. Keywords: Hyperreality, Alternate Universe, Fan Fiction, Readers, Hilmy Milan
