Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based boarding house rental information system equipped with an online room booking feature and an automatic payment reminder. The case study was conducted at Kos Astoria, Madiun City, where the room rental process was still carried out manually via WhatsApp without structured recording and payment reminder systems. The system was developed using the Agile methodology, which is iterative and flexible, and involves users in each stage of development. The framework used is Laravel with a MySQL database, and the system is also integrated with WhatsApp Blast for payment reminder notifications, supporting payment methods via QRIS and mobile banking. The main features of the system include user registration, room booking, tenant and transaction data recording, and automatic payment reminders. Testing was carried out using the System Usability Scale (SUS) approach to evaluate the system's usability and user-friendliness. The test results show that the system functions well and meets user needs. This system is expected to improve the efficiency of boarding house management and provide convenience for both owners and tenants.
