Abstract
Empathy is crucial for children as they begin to develop social relationships and adapt to their surroundings. Empathy can be seen through attitudes of sharing and caring, and prosocial behavioral responses. Sociodrama is a learning technique with significant potential for fostering empathy in early childhood, as it allows children to directly experience emotional experiences through the roles they play in role-playing activities. This study aimed to examine the enhancement of empathy through sociodrama techniques in Group B children at Insan Al Firdaus Islamic Kindergarten. This study uses Classroom Action Research Guidance Counseling (PTBK) applying the Kemmis and M.C Taggart model which focuses on Experimental Classroom Action Research Guidance Counseling. Data collection techniques use observation and documentation methods with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that sociodrama techniques are significant in increasing empathy in early childhood. Indicators of improvement include the ability to accompany friends who are sad, befriend everyone, share voluntarily, help friends who fall, and apologize with full awareness. The average empathy score increased from 60.83% (Cycle I) to 82.5% (Cycle II), with the majority of children reaching the categories of "developing as expected" and "developing very well". Sociodrama is proven to be effective in developing children's empathy abilities because it involves emotional, social, and interactive aspects in learning.
