Abstract

Education is the main pillar in developing quality human resources. Through education, individuals not only acquire knowledge and skills, but also character, social, and cultural values that shape personality and moral integrity. Textbooks are educational resources designed to support student learning and professional development. Ethnomathematics is a branch of science that studies how cultural groups apply mathematical ideas and concepts in everyday life. In addition, mathematics learning achievement is an important indicator in assessing the quality of education and students' readiness to face academic challenges. This study uses research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The population in this study was 31 students of class VII H. This sample consisted of 6 students of class VII H for the conventional test and 31 students of class VII H for the ethnomathematics test. Researchers used the N-Gain formula to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that 1) The Development of Textbooks Based on Ethnomathematics is Valid with a percentage of (85%); 2) The Development of Textbooks Based on Practical Ethnomathematics with a percentage of (77%); 3) The development of ethnomathematics-based textbooks is less effective with a percentage of (41%).
