Abstract

This research was motivated by students’ difficulties in understanding the abstract concepts of Digital Electronics and the limited availability of conventional laboratory facilities, thus requiring interactive learning media such as Proteus Software. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using Proteus Software in enhancing the understanding of Digital Electronics concepts among Electrical Engineering Education students. The research employed a mixed methods approach with a concurrent embedded design, in which quantitative data were obtained through pretests, posttests, and questionnaires, while qualitative data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the students’ average pretest score of 54.09 increased to 92.27 in the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.83, categorized as high. Furthermore, the questionnaire results yielded an average score of 4.22, indicating a very positive response, and qualitative data reinforced that the use of Proteus Software significantly improved student engagement, independence, and understanding. Therefore, it can be concluded that Proteus Software is effective as a learning medium for enhancing the understanding of Digital Electronics concepts among students.
