Abstract
This study aims to describe the role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in the process of formulating Village Regulations to advance development in Tamanan Village, Sukomoro District, Magetan Regency. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Data sources consisted of the BPD Chairperson, BPD members, RT Chairpersons, and other community leaders. The results indicate that the BPD in Tamanan Village has effectively carried out its role as a democratic institution that accommodates and channels community aspirations. The results of the community's aspirations and village deliberations are Village Regulation No. 5 of 2023 concerning the Village Budget (APBDes) and Village Regulation No. 6 of 2024 concerning the Village Budget (APBDes), which are implemented through hierarchical deliberations, starting with meetings at the RT level and continuing through the Village Deliberation (Musdes). The role of the BPD in Tamanan Village has been quite effective. It has been proven that the BPD has been active in accommodating community aspirations from the RT level to the village level. However, media for accommodating community aspirations needs to be optimized through the use of digital media such as the village website and WhatsApp groups.
