Abstract

This study aims to describe the personality structure of the main character in the novel Dia yang Haram by Isrina Sumia based on Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic literary theory, to identify the character education values contained in the novel, and to analyze their relevance to Indonesian language learning at SMK Cendekia Madiun. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a content analysis method. The primary data source was the novel Dia yang Haram, supported by interview data from Indonesian language teachers implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum). The results show that the main character experiences inner conflict that reflects the interplay between the Id, Ego, and Superego, as described in Freud's theory. These conflicts illustrate the character’s struggles in facing social pressure, personal impulses, and moral values. The identified character education values include religiosity, integrity, independence, and mutual cooperation, all of which are manifested through the character’s actions and decisions. These values align with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile and are relevant to be integrated into Indonesian language learning, particularly in fiction text instruction based on the Kurikulum Merdeka. The study concludes that literary works such as Dia yang Haram can serve as effective educational media for instilling character values through a literary psychological approach.
