Abstract
Literacy and numeracy are important basic skills in supporting students' understanding of various subjects, including economics. In the 21st century education era, mastering economic concepts does not only depend on memorizing material, but also on students' ability to connect text information with numerical data logically and critically. Unfortunately, there are still many students who have difficulty in applying numeracy literacy to the context of economic learning, resulting in low learning outcomes. SMA Negeri 2 Mejayan is one of the senior high schools located in Mejayan District, Madiun Regency, and has implemented the Merdeka Curriculum in the learning process. In implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, economic learning is generally still dominated by the lecture method, although the school has provided supporting facilities such as Wi-Fi access that can be utilized by students to find learning resources independently. However, learning approaches that do not fully encourage students' active involvement in processing text and numerical information are still a challenge. One approach that is believed to be able to answer these problems is the numeracy literacy-based mastery learning model. This study was motivated by the low level of literacy and numeracy, where 20 out of 35 students had not reached the Criteria for Achieving Learning Objectives (KKTP). This study used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method in two cycles with the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, quiz documentation (using Quizizz), and group discussion assessment. The results in cycle I showed 13 students (37%) were complete, with an average score of 54.86. After improving learning in cycle II, there was a significant increase: 32 students (91%) achieved mastery, with an average score of 73.86. These results show that the application of numeracy literacy-based mastery learning is effective in improving students' economic learning outcomes.
