Abstract

This study aims to identify the diversity of ferns based on morphological characteristics, stem anatomy, and sori in the Srambang Park Waterfall area, Ngawi, and to develop an e-booklet as a biology learning medium. The study was conducted descriptively and qualitatively using the cruise method by exploring the entire research area. The identification results showed that there were 22 species of ferns belonging to 11 families. Morphologically, the species found had variations in leaf shape, vein type, and growth method (epiphytic or terrestrial). Based on the results of the stem anatomy identification, the arrangement of the vascular tissue was concentric amphicribal type (xylem surrounded by phloem) with differences in the number of vascular bundles and the shape of the stem cross-section. The observed sori varied in terms of position, shape, and the presence of indusium. The data obtained were compiled in the form of an e-booklet that was validated by three validators with a validity result of 95.83%, thus being declared very suitable as a teaching medium. This e-booklet is expected to be a contextual learning resource that supports students' understanding of the diversity of ferns.
