Abstract

The study aims to identify and analyze how ecofeminist values are represented in the visuals and lyrics of the video. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method. The data were collected from the Roar music video and song lyrics, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Supporting data were obtained from books, journals, and previous research related to ecofeminism. The findings show that Roar contains both socialist and spiritual ecofeminist values. The socialist perspective appears through the woman’s resistance to patriarchal oppression, while the spiritual aspect is reflected in her peaceful relationship with the environment. The figure of the “female Tarzan” symbolizes a new kind of strength that grows from emotional healing, empathy, and ecological awareness. In conclusion, this study reveals that Roar promotes ecofeminist ideas by showing that women's liberation and environmental care are interconnected. It reflects a cultural shift that redefines strength through harmony, not domination, and opens space for future research on ecofeminism in other forms of popular culture.
