Abstract
Listening is an important skill in learning English, however, it is often neglected due to time limitations, supporting media, and teachers focusing more on other skills such as reading, writing, and speaking. As a result, students do not get meaningful listening practice, so their understanding of the content and structure of spoken texts is not optimally developed. To solve this problem, this study aims to analyze the impact of the Dictogloss method incorporated with podcasts on improving students' listening comprehension using a quantitative with quasi-experimental design. The research subjects involved two tenth-grade classes at MAN 4 Madiun, namely class XB as the experimental class and class XA as the control class, with 20 students in each class. The mean post-test score of the experimental group (80.15) is higher than that of the control group (59.10). Data analysis showed a statistically significant difference (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05), so the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between students taught using the Dictogloss method incorporated with podcasts and students taught using conventional methods. This method also encourages students to be more active in listening, understanding the content more deeply, and increasing their confidence in processing the audio information. In addition, the use of podcasts as a learning media exposes students to English in an authentic context, making the learning process more interesting and meaningful.
