Abstract
This research focuses on the inner conflict and image of women experienced by the main character in the novel Cinta Dalam Diam by Shineeminka and its relevance to literature learning in schools. The purpose of this study is to describe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Cinta Dalam Diam by Shineeminka, describe the image of women in the main character of the novel Cinta Dalam Diam by Shineeminka, and describe the results of analysis and relevance to literature learning in schools. This research approach uses a literary psychology approach to examine the inner conflict of the main character, and a feminism approach, with the method used in this research is a qualitative method. The data used in this study are excerpts from the novel Cinta Dalam Diam. The theories used in this research are David Krech's classification of emotions and Sugihastuti's image of women. The results of this study show that the inner conflict is the concept of guilt found in 6 data describing the feeling of guilt for violating moral and ethical values, shame found in 9 data describing the feeling of shame for making a mistake that is not in accordance with the place and conditions, sadness found in 10 data describing a disappointment that has been experienced during his lifetime, hatred found in 4 data describing feelings of anger, love found in 3 data describing feelings of love, image of women in physical aspects found in 2 data. The results of this study are relevant to literature learning to support character strengthening and understanding of life values in Indonesian language learning in the independent curriculum at the high school level, phase F elements of reading, responding, thinking and critical reasoning.
