Abstract

A digital encyclopedia is an effective means to convey vegetation information in Gembes Spring. This study aims to determine the diversity of vegetation in the Gembes Spring Area. This type of research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a census method for tree vegetation and a quadrat plot for understory vegetation. Plot placement is carried out through stratified random sampling. The plot used is a rectangle measuring 2m x 0,5m, with 30 plots, each with a research area of 300m2. The results showed that the types of understory vegetation found consisted of 7 growth forms, namely, herbs, shrubs, lianas, ferns, bushes, and moss, while tree vegetation consisted of as many as seven species. The species that dominate the spring area come from the herbaceous growth form. The location where they grow is very supportive of their growth because herbs thrive in moist, shady soil and can absorb water quickly. The species that dominates the spring area is Zingiber spectabile Griff. With an INP of 12.41% followed by the species Ageratina riparia (Regel) R.M.King & H.Rob. with an INP of 11.81% and the Globba marantina L. species with an INP of 6.80%. Species with the lowest INP were identified as 10 species with an INP of 0.29%. The average physicochemical factors in the research area were air temperature with an average of 25℃, soil temperature 21.5℃, soil moisture 5.9% air humidity 79.8% Light intensity 1147.1 lux, and soil pH 7.7. These average values are still within the range that can be tolerated by vegetation, by the growing conditions of the species found in the area. The compiled encyclopedia received very good qualifications, with a response rate of 91%, indicating that the digital encyclopedia was deemed suitable for use.
