Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of an interactive e-book with gamification features to improve folktale reading skills in fourth grade elementary school students. The background of this study is the low interest of students in reading folktales due to monotonous learning and minimal use of interactive media. The method used is the ADDIE development model consisting of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product was validated by material experts and media experts, and tested on students and teachers. The validation results showed a feasibility level of 96% from material experts and 97% from media experts, included in the very valid category. The student trial yielded an average positive response of 92.15%, while teachers gave it a score of 47 out of 50. This media was deemed engaging, easy to use, and able to enhance students' understanding of the structure and elements of folktales. Therefore, this gamification-based interactive e book is suitable for use as an effective alternative learning medium for improving elementary school students' reading skills.
