Abstract

Cognitive ability is the ability of students to process one or more information that involves the process of students' understanding of the information received, including focusing on thinking skills, including learning, problem solving, rationalizing, and remembering. In fourth-grade Mathematics learning, many students have not mastered the indicators of remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. This study aims to determine whether the Inside Outside Circle learning model based on Powtoon Animated media has an impact on the cognitive abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students. The subjects in this study were fourth-grade students at SDN Bangunsari 02. This study used a quantitative approach with a Posttest Only Control Group Design research type. The sampling technique used was a random sampling technique, with a sample size of 46 students. The research instrument consisted of posttest questions in mathematics for fourth grade. The results of the data class analysis showed differences in the results of fourth-grade students' cognitive abilities before and after learning using the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) model based on Powtoon Animated media, with the average value increasing from 57.60 to 81.73. The hypothesis test shows that the p-value is <0.05, namely 0.00 <0.05. Thus, the results of the study indicate that the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model based on Powtoon Animated media is effective for the cognitive abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students.
