Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning outcomes for theme 9 "The Richness of My Country" through the implementation of the TPS (Think Pair Share) learning model for fourth-grade students at Kluwut 4 Public Elementary School, Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency. The identified problems were low student learning outcomes and a lack of active student engagement in the learning process. This study, a Classroom Action Research (CAR), was conducted in two cycles with 26 students as subjects. Data collection techniques used in this study included observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instruments included teacher and student activity observation sheets, interviews, and the results of the science learning test. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Indicators of success were determined by the completion of student learning outcomes in the classroom (≥80% of students achieving the Minimum Competency Minimum Score of 75) and active student engagement in collaboration. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes and collaborative activities after the implementation of the TPS model. In the first cycle, the completion of learning in the classroom reached 77%, increasing to 88% in the second cycle. Student cooperative activities also showed significant improvement. Thus, the TPS (Think Pair Share) learning model is effective in improving science learning outcomes and student active participation in learning. Keywords: TPS (Think Pair Share), Learning Outcomes, Science, Cooperative Learning, Elementary School.
