Cultivating Socially Conscious and Environmentally Caring Characters Through the Morning Habit of "Alms Friday and Clean Friday" in Class VII Students of SMP IT Bakti Ibu Madiun. Thesis. Madiun. Master of Social Sciences Education Study Program, Postgraduate Faculty, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Dr. Nurhadji Nugraha, S.Pd., M.M., (II) Dr. Moh. Rifai, M.PdI. Keywords: Socially Conscious Character, Environmentally Caring Character, Alms Friday, Clean Friday This research aims to develop abilities and shape the character of students who are useful for making the nation intelligent. By describing and analyzing the cultivation of social caring character and environmental caring character that emerged from the implementation process from the start. This process of cultivating character is one way to shape children's habits so they can control their behavior and become a social event in society. In this research, researchers used a qualitative approach, where the data collected was in the form of words, not numbers as is the case with qualitative research in general. Then the data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, verification The results of the research show that the social care character development carried out at SMP IT Bakti Ibu is running smoothly and can be applied to students, although not all of them have implemented it. Activities to instill the character of caring for the environment are also carried out, such as the SMP IT Clean Friday activity which is held every month. Not only that, it can even be seen from the children's enthusiasm in bringing community service tools to clean the school environment. In the implementation process, this activity can be said to be successful, as can be seen from the behavior of students who set aside alms. in the morning, then alms collection activities ranging from cooking which is always done even though not every month, to various kinds of cleaning activities at other schools.
