Abstract

Health supplements are used to maintain the immune system and improve the immune system when conditions are not good. The genitri plant is an alternative natural ingredient that contains antioxidants so it can be used to improve the body's immune system. The aim of this research is to determine the appropriate granulation method for making 96% ethanol extract granules from genitri leaves ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus ) and to determine the concentration ratio of PVP as a binding agent to obtain the optimum granule formula. The research method used is an experimental approach. Making granule preparations uses a thick extract of genitri leaves which is then granulated using the wet granulation method with PVP binder with varying concentrations of 3%, 4.5% and 5%. The granule preparation is then evaluated including a moisture test, number of fines test, flow speed test, and angle of repose test. The average results of the moisture content evaluation were 1.50 ± 0.24-1.93 ± 0.28, the evaluation of the number of fines was 0.013 ± 0.006-0.016 ± 0.004, the evaluation of the flow rate was 12.58 ± 0.30-13.99 ±0.27, evaluation of angle of repose 27.18±1.45-31.02±4.64. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the one way anova test at a confidence level of 95%. The results of the one way ANOVA test evaluating the motion content were 0.077, the number of fines was 0.778, the flow speed was 0.008, and the angle of repose was 0.331. Variations in PVP concentration have an influence on the physical quality and stability of granules from 96% ethanol extract of genitri leaves ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus ).
