Abstract

The preparation of a digital booklet based on bird biodiversity and conservation status was carried out due to the lack of knowledge of the public or tourists about the diversity and importance of the role of birds in the ecosystem. Because of the lack of knowledge, several species are extinct in the two Ngawi Ecotourism locations. This research aims to increase the inventory and insight of the community and tourists in the two Ngawi Ecotourism locations about the diversity and importance of the role of birds to the environment. The research method used was descriptive qualitative type with direct observation in the field and taking data available on the internet. The method used for bird observation is point count, this method divides the research location into four station points with different coordinates and a predetermined distance, while the booklet preparation method uses born digital and digitized material methods. Research at the two research sites succeeded in finding 20 species of birds, where 19 of the 20 species were successfully documented. The results of the findings were calculated using the Shannon-Wienner formula and obtained a diversity index of 1.46 at Alas Nogo Ecotourism and 1.8 at Gendingan Campground Ecotourism which indicates that the level of bird diversity in the two Ngawi Ecotourism locations is classified into a moderate level of diversity. The digital booklet that has been tested gets an average percentage of 78.87% which proves that the digital booklet of birds in the two Ngawi Ecotourism areas is valid and feasible to use, while the suggestion for this research is that the research time used is longer and consistent so that the results of documentation of bird species and environmental and weather changes can be observed more maximally and there is a need for research on nocturnal birds.
