Abstract
This research aims to analyze and describe the development of the jenang mirah industry in Josari Village, Jetis District, Ponorogo Regency, analyze and describe the impact of The Jenang Mirah Industry on the socio-economic life of Josari residents, Jetis District, Ponorogo Regency, and analyze and describe the impact of the jenang mirah industry on the socio-economic life of residents Josari, Jetis District, Ponorogo Regency and its potential as a social studies learning resource for SMP/MTs. Researchers use qualitative research. The approach used in this research is a narrative study approach which focuses on narratives, stories, or descriptions of a series of events related to human experience. Data comes from primary and secondary data, namely in the form of informants and documents. The informants for this research were the owners of The Jenang Mirah Industry, employees, the surrounding community, and junior high school social studies teachers. The data collection instruments used are the main instrument and auxiliary instruments. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses source triangulation method techniques. The data obtained was analyzed using the interactive data analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman data model. Based on the results of research, analysis and research discussions, it shows that the initial entry of The Jenang Mirah Industry was one of the ideas of community members who had the aim of improving their lives, providing employment opportunities and increasing their income, because the majority of Josari Village residents work in the agricultural sector and have no income. still. After the emergence of this industry it then shifted to the industrial sector. The development of The Jenang Mirah Industry has had an impact on the community, especially Josari Village, because it provides a steady income every month, so it can meet daily needs. The social impact of the Jenang Mirah Industry in Josari village can be seen in maintaining local wisdom and traditional culture, as well as increasing the sense of solidarity among the local population. In an educational context, The Jenang Mirah Industry has the potential to be used as a learning resource for junior high school social studies subjects.
