Informatics Engineering Study Program, FT, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Mr. Saifulloh, S.Kom., M.Kom (II) Mrs. Yessi Yunita Sari, S.Kom., M.Cs. Vocational High School, or more commonly known as SMK, is a type of secondary education institution whose main purpose is to prepare students for the world of work. SMK has various vocational programs that cover a wide range of fields, from engineering, business, tourism, to health. The aim of SMK is to develop students' practical skills, which will enable them to enter the workforce with a strong foundation. In the early days of entering the SMK level, students will choose a major which is very influential in the future learning process. One of the Machine Learning algorithms that can be used for classification is the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm so that these problems can be resolved easily. With the design of determining majors using the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm, SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi can solve these problems. The working principle of K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) is to find the closest distance between the data to be evaluated and its K closest neighbors in the data set. K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) is a method of classifying objects based on learning data that is closest to the object.z (A'yuniyah & Reza, 2023) This method aims to classify new objects based on attributes and training samples. Nearest Neighbor is an approach to calculating the closeness between new cases and old cases, which is based on matching the weights of a number of existing features. With the intelligent system created, it is hoped that it can help solve these problems and be useful for SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi in solving problems related to prospective students who are still confused in choosing majors. The design of a classification system for determining majors with the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm at SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi uses a web-based system, which can help prospective students in determining majors at SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi.
