Abstract
ABSTRACT Dian Ratnasari. 2024. The Role of the Independent Board of Commissioners in Moderating the Effect of Profitability and Capital Structure towards Firm Value. PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Dr. Anggita Langgeng Wijaya, S.E. M.Si., Ak., C.A. Supervisor (II) Richo Diana Aviyanti, S.E., M.Ak. The aim of this study was to determine and analyse the effect of profitability and capital structure towards firm value moderated by the independent board of commissioners. This type of research was quantitative using secondary data obtained from financial statements and annual reports of companies. The population in this study were all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2019-2022 period, totaling 93 companies. Sampling in this study used the purposive sampling method so observation data was obtained as many as 372 company samples. Data analysis techniques used panel data regression and moderated regression analysis (MRA) using the eviews 12 program. The results of this study prove profitability has a significant positive effect towards firm value, capital structure has a significant positive effect towards firm value, an independent board of commissioners weakens the insignificant negative effect of profitability towards firm value, and an independent board of commissioners strengthens the significant positive effect of capital structure towards firm value.
