Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This disease has symptoms that are similar to other diseases, so it is often difficult to diagnose quickly and accurately. Therefore, we need a system that can help diagnose dengue hemorrhagic fever efficiently and accurately. The research aims to design and build a website-based expert system that can diagnose dengue hemorrhagic fever using the forward chaining method. This system is designed to help medical personnel and the general public recognize symptoms and determine the possibility of a diagnosis of dengue hemorrhagic fever quickly. The use of the forward chaining method is used in this system because of its ability to process data from symptoms provided by the user and match it with the rules that have been determined in the knowledge base. This system will start the diagnosis process by taking symptom data input by the user, then matching this data with existing rules to produce a diagnosis conclusion. The result of the research is a website-based expert system prototype that is capable of diagnosing dengue hemorrhagic fever with sufficient accuracy. It is hoped that the system can be an effective tool in the process of early diagnosis of dengue hemorrhagic fever, so that it can assist in making faster and more precise medical decisions.
