Abstract

Choosing the right skincare is not just a trend, it is part of a long-term investment in facial skin health. Facial skin is constantly exposed to pollution, UV rays, and other environmental factors that can lead to various issues such as acne, premature aging, dullness, and dehydration. Selecting skincare should be tailored to each individual’s skin type to avoid allergic reactions and irritation, thus providing maximum protection for the skin. Therefore, the existence of a decision support system for skincare selection can assist skincare users in determining appropriate skincare product recommendations based on their skin concerns and skin type. In the process of designing such a decision support system for skincare based on facial skin conditions, the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is used to determine skincare product recommendations from several skincare brands. The available skincare brands in the system include Somethinc, Skintific, and The Originote, with the output being a basic skincare regimen (facial wash, moisturizer, and sunscreen). The decision support system recommends skincare products based on several criteria, including price, skin issues, skin type, and age. The system is built as a website using the PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) programming language and the Laravel framework, with Unified Modeling Language (UML) used for system modeling. The system is tested using the Black Box Testing method. The results indicated that the system runs smoothly without any errors.
