Abstract

This study aims to provide empirical evidence on the effect of the concentration of ownership of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on agency costs in company size moderation. In this study, the independent variable used is the concentration of ownership, while the dependent variable of agency costs is measured using the asset turnover ratio, then the variable moderation of the company's size. This type of research is quantitative with secondary data sources obtained through annual reports. The object of this research is all companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2022 period. The data collection technique uses a purposive sampling technique. The number of samples that met the criteria was 150 companies with observation data of 750 data. The analysis method used is a simple regression analysis with normality testing and Pearson correlation which is processed using the SPSS version 26 application. The results showed that the concentration of ownership had a positive influence on agency costs and the size of the company weakened the relationship between ownership concentration and agency costs.
