Abstract

This research aims to (1) develop media in the form of e-modules based on problem-based learning to increase students' understanding of concepts, (2) determine the feasibility of e-modules based on problem-based learning on alternative energy materials, (3) determine the increase in understanding abilities students' concepts after following learning using e-modules based on problem-based learning on alternative energy material. This research uses research and development with ADDIE steps. The results of this research are the appropriateness of the quality of the e-module by material experts and media experts who meet the criteria of very feasible, with an average score of 81.30 by content experts and an average score of 84.13 by media experts. The results of the student response questionnaire obtained an average of 78.92 in the outstanding category. The effectiveness of the e-module based on the concept of understanding test scores was then analyzed using the t-test and N-Gain. The t-test results showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, meaning there is a significant difference between students' understanding before and after using e-modules in learning, and the N-Gain value is 0.62 with a medium category. The research results produced a feasible and effective problem-based learning e-module to increase students' conceptual understanding of alternative energy materials.
