Abstract
This research aims to determine the cultivation of porang plants, the driving factors for farmers to cultivate porang plants, farmers' income has increased by cultivating porang to find out the obstacles that occur during cultivation, and to find out the role of the government towards farmers in cultivating porang plants carried out by farmers in the village. Wonosidi, Tulakan District, Pacitan Regency. In this case the researcher interviewed two farmer owners, two farmer workers, one farm laborer and the village secretary who was directly involved in cultivating porang in their area. The research method uses a qualitative approach with interviews, documentation and direct observation. Apart from that, it uses data analysis with triangulation techniques. Based on the results of research on the Effectiveness of Porang Plant Cultivation to Increase Farmers' Income in Wonosidi Village, Tulakan District, Pacitan Regency, it can be concluded that porang plant cultivation has existed in Wonosidi Village for approximately 5 years, because previously in 2020 the main commodity, namely cloves, experienced a decline in purchasing power due to pests, so the economy at that time was very down. So this porang plant provides many benefits, especially for farmers' income. A stable and profitable selling price for porang tubers can increase significant additional income for farmers, especially if porang production is optimally successful. Even though there are obstacles experienced by farmers, they are not too burdensome for farmers. Apart from that, the government's contribution by providing fertilizer is enough to help farmers reduce operational costs, and farmers are more active in cultivating porang plants better and optimally.
